The rebuilding of Novolabun hydroelectric plant in Ukraine has begun. The upgrade concept was worked out by our company. The plant upgrade consists in replacing the old Francis turbine to a modern Kaplan turbine with vertical shaft. The plant building, inlet duct and weir will be rebuilt thoroughly.

WTW will supply the following components:

- Kaplan turbine with rotor diameter d = 1090 mm;
- asynchronous generator with the gear;
- elbow draft tube;
- electrical equipment;
- turbine automation.

The start up is planned in October, 2011.
